Cardcaptor Sakura Themed Story
Chapter 10: Chapitre X
(by Arcademan, added on 2005-10-09 13:38:17 AEST) [Discussion Topic]

"Dark fiend!!! I don't know how you returned but you'll find
defeating me not so easy this time!" yelled Black Adam in defiance as
he still remembered how he was pummelled by The Darkness during his
past, when he was the prodigy of the wizard Shazam.

The Darkness looked at his one-time rival. "Heh. I could defeat you
with terrible ease however I sense a darkness within you, my old
enemy...whatever did you do to fall from grace with your mentor?"

"That senile old fool!!! His way was for the foolish. With his powers
at my command, I was going to be the ruler that I was meant to be.
The world would've been an utopia but The Wizard defied what was to
be. Instead, he banished me from this world. It took me over 5,000
years to return from the farthest reaches of space, only to find a
new champion named Captain Marvel, as well as other champions of the
Wizard. I was destroyed at first by them but was resurrected. I hate
Captain Marvel but my personal anger is with the Wizard!!!"

The Darkness laughed a low, bone-chilling response. "Your life,
Adam...so much like mine. Instead of using our enengies in trying to
destroy one another, we should take our similar revenge on the Wizard
Shazam. What say you?"

A gleam came over Black Adam's eyes. "Deal...for now. We shall work
together to assure this world's downfall!"

Dr. Sivana came between both fiends. "Excellent. With his powers,
Black Adam himself can lead the way to the Rock of Eternity and to
conquest!" On that, all the members of the Monster Society of Evil
led out a loud cheer.

"Excellent. I need to go into solitude for now. I shall return in six
hours. Be prepared for battle!!!" On that note, The Darkness vanished
from the hideout. As Sivana headed to his lab, Black Adam grabbed the
scientist by his arm.

"This creature is NOT to be trusted. When his defenses are down, I
will crush him!!!" As Adam walked away, beads of sweat ran from the
mad scientist's head and thought "I've never seen his so mad...so
possessed like this. What am I getting myself into?

Nighttime, as Sakura slept, she began to have dreams...strong enough
to activate The Dream Card by her sub-consciousness. In her dream,
she looked around and saw only an infinite field of pitch blackness.
Though she appeared alone, it felt as though hundreds of eyes were
looking down on her. She looked up into the sky, also dark and devoid
of any stars. From the corner of her eye, Sakura thought she saw
something fly across but being dark, was unsure until she heard a
voice.

"You're not alone."

Whether it was a sign of an ally or of bad times ahead was not known.
As she continued to walk around in her dark dream, Sakura stopped
suddenly and took one last look around and saw movement within the
Darkness, followed by a bone-chilling low laughter, followed by a
voice as old as time itself...

"This world is mine!!! And so are you, prodigy of Clow Reed!!!"
Tendrils of dark matter began to wrap around Sakura's body,
preventing her from summoning her wand and slowly and painfully
squeezing the lifeforce from her body. She screamed but no sound came
from her mouth. At that precise moment, Sakura woke up from her bead,
her head damp in sweat, breathing heavily as though she couldn't
breathe. After a few moments, she calmed down but was still visibly
shakened by her dream.

She got up from her bed and put on her robe, then took a peek at
Kero, who was still sound asleep in her dresser drawer in his little
bed.

"No sense waking Kero up. It can wait until morning." thought Sakura
as he headed out her bedroom and down the stairs. She opened the
front door and the cool air hit her face, having a calming effect on
her.

"Maybe a little walk will do me some good. I certainly can't go back
to sleep right now."
After putting on her shoes, Sakura headed out in
the early morning enviroment, so pre-occupied with her thoughts not
realizing she was being watched within the dark bushes around the
neighborhood.

Back in the Arcade Brigade headquarters, Arcademan sat patiently for
word from Parrillusia, who was sent to summon his mentor The White
Wizard, whom he hoped knew more about the being known only as The
Darkness.

"Damn! What's taking PixieP so long? This world is going to hell in a
hand basket and all I can do is sit and wait. This isn't my style! I
need to go and pound something!!!"

"Easy, Arcademan. I'm sure Parrillusia is doing her best. You, of all
people, know how hard it is to penetrate the dimensions beyond." said
Tecknight. By the way, we're still trying to track the archmage but
so far haven't come up with anything.

Arcademan turned to his helmeted ally. "Technology isn't going to
help us. Look at what he did to BattleTech. I'm afraid the eldritch
magicks may be our only solution." Tecknight, along with Striker,
were scientist and anylists that didn't put much faith in magic,
instead holding steadfast to science as their solution to problems.
Arcademan himself couldn't perform magic however learned its value in
battle long before becoming friends with pixies and sorcerers.

Meanwhile, Parrillusia headed to a part of the Realm of Higher
Existance usually avoided by most. Using her amazing mystical
abilities, she pierced the final veil to where The White Wizard
himself dwelled. Upon her arrival, The White Wizard greeted the young
faerie.

"Salutations, Parrillusia. What brings you to my domain? For you to
come here must mean a danger very great." said the mage.

"Arcademan has requested an audience with you. It concerns a matter
of upmost urgency. There is this new threat to the Earth named The
Darkness, who has already..." Parrillusia's comments cut off as she
noticed The White Wizard freeze upon hearing the words 'The
Darkness'. Never in her entire existance has Parrillusia seen the
wizard so visibly shaken that seeing that gave her an uneasy feeling
herself.

"I must return to the mortal dimension. Arcademan and the heroes must
know the threat to the very existance of life itself in the known
cosmos!!!"
