Cardcaptor Sakura Themed Story
Chapter 14: Chapitre XIV
(by Arcademan, added on 2005-12-02 14:33:41 AEST) [Discussion Topic]

As Eriol invited his guests to sit down in the library study where he spends much of his time, Sakura looked around and noticed no one else was around.

"Where are Miss Mizuki, Nakuru and Suppi, Eriol?" questioned the young cardcaptor.

"Ah. I knew you were coming so I insisted the three go on a shopping adventure for me so that we can talk alone about The Darkness. Of course I hadn't foreseen the guests you have brought along." Eriol turned to the other two. "You must be Botan and this young fellow the spirit detective Yusuke Urimeshe. A pleasure to meet the both of you." as Eriol bowed to the two.

Botan bowed back. "I heard that the wizard Clow Reed was reincarnated but I never dreamed on meeting..." Yusuke cut off Botan's sentence.

"Enough with the pleasentries! We need to know more about The Darkness!"

"Impatience, are we not...however you are correct. You three must be filled in on everything I know about this evil being. For starters, he is not of this world but comes from another Earth in another dimension known as The Arcademan Universe."

Upon hearing Eriol mention Arcademan's name, Sakura gasped. "Arcademan's world is responsible for The Darkness?!! How?!! Why?!!"

Eriol continued. "The true origin of The Darkness is unknown, even to those within his world. 500 years ago, the archmage attacked and threatened to lay waste to the entire Earth and The Arcademan Universe. A grand mage named The White Wizard called for my assistance, along with a wizard from yet another Earth named Shazam.

This time Botan interrupted. "Even we in the Spirit World have heard of the mighty Shazam. I never imagined you...I mean Clow Reed meeting him."

"Shazam was pulled from his past, where his powers were at their height to help out. Despite our powers, it took everything we had to defeat the villain. Instead of destroying him, we divided his being into three and imprisioned each one within our worlds. We also knew eventually The Darkness would be freed however at only one-third its previous strength. So though it came from the Arcademan Universe, I fear it was Clow Reed that brought him to our world."

Sakura was puzzled by something. "Why didn't Kerberus or Yue tell me anything about this?"

Eriol stood up and walked over to his desk. "The battle against The Darkness occured before I created them. I had just created the Clow Cards and this was one of the first major battles I had fought with them. I surely would have been defeated if it wasn't for my own 'darkness' in my possession."

"It was her, wasn't it?" exclaimed Sakura as she pulled out her cards from her pouch. She then took out The Hope Card. "All this time, she could've told me about this."

Eriol smiled. "However you didn't know the entire history so you had no idea. The only thing I can reveal is that she is the key between victory and defeat." Upon that cryptic remark, the telephone began to ring. "Excuse me for a moment please."

Yusuke turned to both Botan and Sakura. "I don't know why but I just got a cold shiver up my back when the phone rang. I feel something big is about to go down." Eriol returned to his three guests.

"That was Yukito. Apparently the Shadow Beings are beginning to attack Tomoeda."

"DAMN!!! The Darkness suckered us!!! While we go on a field trip to England, he attacks Japan. We need to get back there FAST!!!" yelled Yusuke.

Sakura went to reach for a card. "The Return Card will get us back immediately..." However before she could activate her star staff, Eriol grabbed her.

Please...allow me. You must be at full strength when you approach this battle...and it will be indeed a battle. I wish I could help out more. Just remember what I told you about The Hope Card." Raising his own mystical staff, Eriol casted a bolt of mystic energy and a portal instantly appeared. As Botan, Yusuke and Sakura began to head through it, Sakura turned to the person who was once known as Clow Reed...

"Thank you, Eriol. Everything will be all right." Once the three entered the light, it disappeared, leaving Eriol alone once again in his home.

"Unfortunately...I fear it will only get worse before it gets better, Sakura. I best prepare myself for the worst in the event she fails...or for that matter, the heroes from Shazam and The White Wizard's worlds...for if The Darkness is reunited with its bodies, no force known in the universe may be able to stop him."

Back in the Arcademan Universe...

Arcademan looked out from the Arcade Brigade headquarters, twin beams of x-rays scanning the immediate vicinity looking for any signs of The Darkess or his army of shadow creatures. "All clear here. Anyone else see anything?"

Several members of the Arcade Brigade spoke through their communicators reporting nothing out of the ordinary. Arcademan turned to Parrillusia.

"I don't know what is worse...knowing what's in store for us in the battle against The Darkness...or waiting around for him to make his move."

Parrillusia turned to him. "That is your dark side dictating your actions, Arcademan. You must stay focused on the task at hand." The statement stunned the hero a little bit.

"I was right in what I said earlier. Your humanity is almost gone. Seven hells, PixieP...what is your problem?" demanded Arcademan. Parrillusia remained still at a statue, looking out at the countryside. "Fine. Have it your way. I expect you to do your best in battle or you can head back to your precious Plane of Higher Existance!" On that note, Arcademan stepped back into the headquarters. Once gone, Parrillusia knelt down and began to cry uncontrollably for a few seconds, then composed herself.

"I must remain strong...yet the words of Arcademan...who I once considered my closest friend...they hurt me more than any weapon could..."

Inside the headquarters, Arcademan walked over to the computer center, where Tecknight was. "Still no sign of The Darkness anywhere, Arcademan. I'd give just about anything to find out what the hell he's up to?"

"Me too, old friend. His powers are concealing himself. Even the White Wizard couldn't locate him with his magicks. Guess all we can do is continue the search and hope he appears soon." As Arcademan finished his statement, a figure walked up from behind him.

"INFORMATION DOWNLOAD COMPLETE...BATTLETECH REQUESTING RETURN TO DUTY..."

Arcademan turned to the android. "Are you fully functional again, BattleTech?!!"

"SYSTEMS REBUILT...FUNCTIONING WITHIN DESIGNED PROTOCAL...REQUEST ASSIGNMENT..."

"It's good to have you back on the team, my friend. Here's what I need you to do..."

Of course no one knew of the events about to take place on the world known as Earth-Shazam as the combined forces of The Monster Society of Evil and the shadow creatures of The Darkness were ready to begin their assault on both the heroes of Fawcett City and The Rock of Eternity.
