Unrequited Love
-CHAPTER ELEVEN-
"SAKURA!" Syaoran bursted through the doors of the hospital, nurses staring after him as he ran past them and sprinted up teh stairs. He then reached Sakura's room and swung the door open with anticipation.
There she was, sitting upright on the bed staring back at him while Touya was there too staring back at him. He quickly rushed forward and took her into his arms, in an embrace. A tight one.
She then froze, surprised at his sudden movement. "S-Syaoran?"
"I'm glad you're okay... I knew you would be but... if anything happened..." he said quietly into her ear.
She blushed several shades of red and slowly put her hands on his back, returning his hug with a faint smile which he didn't see. "But I'm okay now right?" she said reassuringly. She felt comfortable in his arms. 'He feels so warm...'
"Yeah... so gaki, get off my sister, if you (cough) don't mind," Touya said with half a grin and smile on his face.
Syaoran snapped back to reality and realized he was holding Sakura quite close... He immediately backed away with red flushing his face. "S-Sorry..."
She then started laughing weakly pointing at him and he stared at her. "Y-Your face... it's so r-red... hahaha...."
"Huh?"
The doors then burst open as their other friends came it. Tomoyo and Meiling shrieked before giving her a bone-crushing hug. Eriol smiled as he came in closing the door behind him.
"I see we missed something when you went ahead of us...," he grinned as Syaoran looked away rolling his eyes. "Ah... girls..."
"Guys....I'm happy to see you too.... but... I can't... breathe...." Sakura choked as Eriol pried the two off her.
"We're just glad you're alright...," Tomoyo cried wiping her eyes with a tissue. Meiling rolled her eyes.
"Well, I believe I didn't get my turn to hug you yet," Eriol said jokingly. Sakura laughed.
"Then come over here! After this I'm seriously going to need some sleep though."
Eriol then hugged her gently but quickly before Syaoran popped a blood vessel and took the girls by the shoulders. "C'mon, she needs some rest after all the excitement."
"They nodded and Touya bripped Syaoran's shoulder. "I'm only giving you this chance so you better take it," he whispered before leaving the room, closing the door behind him.
Sakura stared at the door and back to Syaoran. "That's weird. He doesn't usually leave me alone with ANY guy."
Syaoran scratched his head uncertainly. "Well, uh, I just wanted to... talk to you..."
"Oh, sure. What's up?"
He sighed and takes a seat next to her.
"You know, I was really scared...," he said quietly. "Scared that you could've died right there in front of me..."
She stared at her hands. "I don't know what happened... I just blacked out from what I remember..."
"Naomi drugged your drink when we went to her place... so it caused you to... feel a bit weird when we left."
Sakura raised her eyebrow. "Why would she do that?"
"...because she likes me."
".....I see...."
"I'm sorry... I should've seen it coming..." he said with guilt. She shook her head.
"No one can see the future. It's not your fault."
"Wait, this wasn't what I wanted to tell you...," he said. "But I just want to let you know."
"Know what?"
"Since you first came here, I always got a weird feeling about you... you're probably the only girl I felt this way about... it was really a nice feeling..."
Sakura then listened intently.
Syaoran laughed to himself. "I just thought it was a dejavu thing. But the more I spent time around you, the feeling started to become more than just friends... at first, it was a mutual thing but then again... I started... err..."
"Started what...?"
"....I started like you more than a friend."
Sakura didn't reply. She just formed an 'oh' on her lips. He sighed and breathed heavily.
"I bet you think I'm just one of those other guys that just want a girlfriend...."
"...Well, actually, no I don't. Just a bit surprised, I guess," she said still looking at her hands.
"I'm not asking you out or anything, I just really wanted to let you know how I feel. I find it kinda strange if I kept it to myself and I didn't want to tell Eriol and the girls were definitely out of the question--"
"AH! Now I know why my brother didn't pounce on you the minute you came in and hugged me!" she exclaimed with slight laughter. "Now that's definitely something guys don't normally do."
"So... you figured I talked to him?"
"It seemed like the only thing that made sense."
"Well! Now that that's cleared... I guess I should let you get some sleep before Touya comes back and kills me for not letting you," he laughed getting up from his seat. "I'll see you tomorrow then--"
She held onto his arm sleeve. "Wait."
He turned to face her. "What is it?"
She blushed and slowly loosened her grip on his shirt. "Can you... stay with me for today? Please?"
Syaoran was definitely surprised but broke into a smile. "Sure. Uh, if you don't mind being alone in a room with me," he laughed.
"Well... I don't but..."
"...'But'?"
She pointed towards the door and he turned around to see Touya coming in. "You're done talking right?" he asked.
"Yeah," he replied with a sigh.
"Hey Touya, you should get back to the company with Yukito. I'm sure he could use your help...." she said hoping he would take the hint.
He raised an eyebrow at his sister. "Uh huh...," then he saw her glance over to Syaoran. "I see... Oh, well, I have some things to get done anyway..." he said with a quick wink and then stopped in front of Syaoran. "You better not try anything when I'm not here tonight..."
Syaoran stared at him with shock, anger and annoyance. He then waved as he made his way to the door, "I'll see you tomorrow then." And he closed the door behind him. Syaoran takes his former seat beside her bed.
"Okay... So I'm staying. Now what?" he asked with a smile.
"Well... we could just relax.... or watch TV," she said holding a remote in her hand. "This time, I call what we watch. No more horrors from you."
He laughed. "Alright. But don't let it be a sappy one."
"FYI, I like romances!" she squealed turning the television on. He sighed and sat back in his seat. 'This'll be a long night...'
They were watching 'Crazy First Love' and Sakura was wiping her eyes as she looked on at the movie. The main male character has run with tears threatening to spill as the main female character fell onto her knees calling after him, beginning to cry.
Il-Mae: Tae-il! Do you know why I'm marrying him?
Il-Mae: Because he has other women.
Il-Mae: He'll easily fall in love again...
Il-Mae: Even without me... he'll continue to live a happy life!
Il-Mae: But you can't do that.
Il-Mae: You'll only think of me and love me...
Il-Mae: Just like my dad...
Il-Mae: I can't let you become like my dad... (starts to break down and cry)
"He did so many outrageous but romantic things...," she sobbed at the TV. "It's so sad but romantic... isn't it, Syaoran?"
No reply came. She looked away from the screen and at her 'friend'. He had fallen asleep with his arms crossed, head leaning against them on her bed. She finished wiping her tears away and closed the television and sighed.
"I guess I could finish watching it tomorrow."
She put the remote down and gently caressed his face.
"Goodnight Syaoran. Sweet dreams..." she whispered with a light kiss and turned off the lights.

To make things clear about the movie so you can understand what I was trying to say before (and what Sakura was feeling) read this:
SUMMARY FOR "CRAZY FIRST LOVE"
Tae-il has chased after his childhood friend, Il-mae, all the way through high school claiming he loves her. But the problem with that was her father doesn't approve of them being together and Il-mae doesn't feel the same way towards him because of their childhood (or so we would think). But her father makes several deals with him; if he can study hard enough to reach Il-mae's status of grades, he'll allow Tae-il to be with his daughter.
But throughout the time he was trying so hard to Il-mae sees his determination but only makes her want to stay away from him even more. So she decides to wed to someone else before he got to her. The reason for this action was because she was born with myelodysplastic syndromes which was the reason her mother died after giving birth to her.
Because Tae-il loved her that much and would not go out with any other woman, she didn't want to see him suffer if they were together and when she died.
Last note: About the outrageous but romantic things... well, Tae-il went to extremes to prove his love for Il-Mae. I won't say what. LOL
